The story began at IBC 2001, where artec technologies introduced XENTAURIX, its first Broadcast Logger platform. Even at that early stage, the system offered advanced audiovisual recording with network-based remote access – a groundbreaking concept that was far ahead of its time.
IBC 2001: First artec technologies exhibition and XENTAURIX premiere
One of the key innovations was a client-side on-the-fly workflow that enabled users to replay live broadcasts while recordings were still in progress. This innovative method was later granted a patent in 2006 and laid the technological foundation for many of the sophisticated replay and streaming capabilities that have since become standard within the XENTAURIX platform.
Despite reduced international participation at IBC 2001, the 2001 exhibition became a defining moment, marking artec technologies’ successful entry onto the global stage. With growing international interest, numerous systems were sold directly from the booth, laying the foundation for XENTAURIX’s global success.
Over the past 25 years, the XENTAURIX platform has continuously evolved from a classical Broadcast Logger into one of today’s most comprehensive Media Intelligence Platforms.
Today, XENTAURIX combines professional broadcast recording with AI-powered speech-to-text transcription, multilingual translation, metadata extraction, content analysis, intelligent search, automated clipping, monitoring, alerting and mobile content distribution. The platform is used by broadcasters, media monitoring agencies, regulatory authorities, government organizations, intelligence and OSINT centers, training facilities and enterprise customers worldwide.
