Originally developed as a pure digital video recorder, the Media & Broadcast Logger has since expanded well beyond its initial scope. The Logger now integrates multi-channel and multi-source signal capturing, ingestion, processing, transcoding, recording, multiscreen monitoring, content re-streaming and re-purposing, editing, and export of video clips and snapshots into a single system. Additionally, it includes a search engine, content analysis functionalities, high-performance streaming and web server, and much more.

Processing of multiple Signal Sources
The basic version of the Media & Broadcast Logger provides activatable M/SPTS IP inputs. Optional inputs are available for Analog, DVB-S2/C2/T2 + ATSC/ATSC3.0, SDI, NDI, SMPTE 2110, ASI, QAM, RGB/DVI/HDMI, TS-IP, RTMP, RTSP, HLS, SRT, MPEG-DASH, SMOOTH and Radio FM/AM/DAB signals. Different signal sources can be combined in one device. For DVB and radio applications, the logger has integrated receivers. A DVB receiver contains up to 8 internal tuners. At AM/FM/DAB operation, one receiver card can process and record up to 32 radio stations simultaneously.
The optional X-TS module allows recording of DVB and IP signal sources in native MPEG-TS format. The combination with the H.264/265 Proxy provides frame-accurate editing, cutting and uploading of TS Native video through the low resolution proxy.
With the integrated streaming and web server, MPEG-Dash streams are available on all common stationary and mobile devices with live, instant and time shift function and as VOD.
Multifunctional Information & Editing Dashboard
The XENTAURIX Dashboard is a modern, HTML5-based interface for professional media logging, monitoring, and analysis. Its modular tile architecture allows users to display live broadcast and webcast channels, playback, metadata, search tools, analytics, and optional software modules — all within customizable layouts.
Each tile (e.g., video, status, replay, clipping) can be freely positioned and resized. Tiles interact dynamically: for example, a timeline selection updates relevant content across tiles instantly.
With Instant Replay, users can jump back from live streams to create frame-accurate video clips. Clips are easily edited via drag & drop and exported to FTP servers, network storage, or social media.
The system supports automated clipping based on SCTE-35/104 signals, EPG data, or as-run logs. User-defined layouts can be stored locally or centrally, with light or dark theme options.
Built with modern web technologies (React, Angular, Vue), the dashboard runs in any browser and supports cross-platform access — ideal for broadcasters, media authorities, and newsrooms.

Actual Application: Recording of Web Live Streams and Web Sites
The Media & Broadcast Logger records live video streams from web TV as well as from social media channels such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, SnapChat, TikTok, Instagram Stories automatically, manually or time-controlled and can be analyzed. Media & Broadcast Logger as Standard and Professional Version
The XENTAURIX Media & Broadcast Loggers are available as stand-alone server (Standard Version) with up to 40 channels, depending on type of signal sources and encoding demands or in the Professional Version with an unlimited number of channels. Video data can be stored internally or externally, depending on the storage duration and customer requirements.

The XENTAURIX Media & Broadcast Logger is a high-performance monitoring and recording system, with which any number of channels can be recorded in the desired recording duration of weeks, months up to years in the original or in customer-specific quality in 24/7 mode or time-controlled via a timer. The systems are equipped with Raid hard disk arrays and redundant power supply units and can be monitored remotely.
For high availability requirements, the Professional System is available in cluster fail-back design.
